“Put him on his knees give him something to believe in” has the exact same energy and depth of meaning as anything Hozier puts out on the regular but since it’s sung by Megan Thee Stallion no one takes it seriously. In this essay I will-

annabeth and percy work so well because while they may have communication issues, who they are at their core perfectly complements one another!! they serve each other in that annabeth desires so deeply a sense of true stability and percy’s unswerving loyalty acts as her bedrock; see the titan’s curse, when annabeth was kidnapped and percy was the only one whose primary goal was saving her. or, in sea of monsters, when he’s the one to bring her back from the sirens. these acts are not “damsel-in-distress” because annabeth is fully capable—instead, they’re examples of someone steadily loving her and choosing her. and with percy, not only does he want to keep those he loves safe, but he always wants have value—as a friend, as a hero, as a person. annabeth, with her practicality and loyalty and judgement skills, respects this need and is perhaps the only one who never underestimates his value. she might make fun of him, but it never feels demeaning because she shows through her actions how she trusts him, like how she never thinks he may go down the path of luke. i should be a lot more eloquent than this but man i love this duo a lot.
